Saving music while listening was quietly failing. Playback and downloads share one budget on the server, and when a busy moment made it ask for a pause, downloads waited about seven seconds before writing the song off — so a track that was perfectly fine came back as "Couldn't download", and sat out a fifteen-minute cooldown for it. Octave now waits as long as the server actually asks, and the whole queue eases off together instead of every song racing to fail. Separately, the very first download after installing the app, or after a day away from it, could go out without credentials and fail on the spot; it no longer can.
